Tobago Carnival 2026 takes place October 30 to November 1, 2026, marking the 5th anniversary of the Tobago October Carnival celebrations. This year's theme, “The Awakening,” promises another weekend of music, mas, culture and pure Tobago energy.
Looking Back at Tobago Carnival 2025
If 2025 showed us anything, it is that Tobago Carnival is growing into a major Caribbean event.
Thousands of masqueraders and spectators filled the streets of Scarborough for J'Ouvert, with bands including Fog Angels, Iconic Mas, Bago Limers and Jade Monkey bringing paint, mud, powder, music and colour to the road. International visitors and returning Trinbagonians joined locals for what was described as one of the festival's biggest street celebrations yet.
Then came the Parade of the Bands.
The Claude Noel Highway was transformed by thousands of masqueraders, with both contemporary costumes and Traditional Mas represented on the road. The 2025 parade also drew strong spectator support, reinforcing just how quickly Tobago's October Carnival has developed its own identity.
It wasn't only about the road, either. Carnival weekend brought together beach experiences, fetes, food, music and Tobago's natural beauty, giving visitors a chance to experience Carnival and the island itself in one trip.
Tobago Carnival 2026: What to Look Forward To
This year is a milestone.
From Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1, Tobago Carnival celebrates five years under the theme “The Awakening.” The official tourism calendar already lists Carnival activity in Scarborough over the weekend, with the Official Tobago Carnival scheduled for Saturday, October 31.
Expect the elements that have made Tobago Carnival special: spectacular costumes, soca, J'Ouvert energy, Traditional Mas, street celebrations and thousands of people coming together in one of the Caribbean's most beautiful settings.
And that's what makes Tobago Carnival different.
You can play mas, experience the culture and then find yourself looking across turquoise Caribbean water before the weekend is finished. Carnival doesn't simply take place in Tobago—the island itself becomes part of the experience.
